About Marston Care

Marston Court has two large lounges and dining areas which enable people to socialise at meal times.

Recent renovation work on the home now means people living in the annex are able to access the main house directly to the upper floor and a lift gives them access to the ground floor of Marston Court. The two gardens are of a good size and people participate in the warmer months to plant seeds and flowers. Both gardens have canopy swings for people to relax and enjoy the views. Marston Court is close by to various local shops and there is a bus stop directly outside the home that will take people and staff supporting them to Leicester city centre. Watermead Park is nearby where individuals can access and feed the ducks and take a stroll round the park.

All clients can participate in in-door and outdoor activities daily.

A range of activities is provided by our full time activities co-ordinator who delivers person centred plans for the needs of the people in our care. Marston Court provides boccia sessions on a Friday for all to participate in and people can go to a disco every Wednesday evening where they socialise with other individuals and enjoy the evening dancing and meeting new friends. Horse riding takes place every week with people who like the outdoors. The safety of this is assessed by the person’s GP and the horse riding school prior to starting. This has been a big success, especially in the last year with the people that have attended. People also have the opportunity to visit loved ones at home, when families find it hard to visit the home themselves. Marston Court also provides holidays and day trips to the seaside every year in the warmer months, and people are accompanied by trained staff members.

Our Staff

As a company we aim to provide support for all our staff who receive regular supervision meetings and yearly appraisals which meets the social care industry standards and regulations.

Staff are trained in the safe administration of medication. This is completed annually through our pharmacy supplier. This is to ensure all aspects of the medication safety cycle are followed for people in our care. Staff are able to access long distance courses throughout the year with our local college, to obtain qualifications related to adult residential social care. This enables them to improve their knowledge and understanding of the people in our care, and provide support that is person-centred.
